La storia dell'azienda agricola Ca' Viola inizia a Montelupo Albese, in Langa,
la Langa degli anni Ottanta: colline non ancora famose su cui inizia a spirare un
vento nuovo. Beppe affitta la vigna dei sogni, chiamata Barturot, e insieme al fido
Maurizio, vinificano le uve nel garage della casa dei genitori.
Un giorno Elio Altare assaggia quel vino e incoraggia Beppe a imbottigliare.
Esce così la prima etichetta firmata Caviola. È il 1991.
Si affianca subito un'altra scommessa, a Montelupo, Beppe gestisce anche un
piccolo appezzamento di barbera che decide di vinificare secondo nuovi
orientamenti, nasce il celebre Bric du Luv, che riassume su di sé l'evoluzione
(anzi, la rivoluzione) che sta andando in scena sotto il cielo della Langa.
Nascono successivamente le nuove etichette, e nel 2002 la cantina si trasferisce a
Dogliani, ma qui la famiglia Caviola inventa un complesso in cui produzione,
consulenza e accoglienza turistica (il relais Villa Bracco sta diventando una realtà)
possono coesistere in armonia, uniti dalla medesima filosofia della semplicità e
dell'eccellenza.
Nel 2005 inizia il capitolo più prestigioso: condurre una vigna di nebbiolo da Barolo.
Il cru Sottocastello di Novello è il prescelto, nella sfida è coinvolto anche il cognato
Giancarlo. Entra così in scena la prima etichetta del "Re dei vini".
Dalle colline dei lupi a Dogliani, e di qui fino al Barolo.
Tanta strada è stata fatta, tanta ne resta da percorrere, il futuro è già iniziato.

The history of the farm Ca 'Viola begins in Montelupo Albese, in Langa,
the Langa of the eighties: the hills were not yet famous, but a new wind was
starting to blow.
Beppe rented the vineyard of his dreams, called Barturot,
and began vinifying the grapes in the garage of his parents' house.
One day Elio Altare, already an established star in the Barolo galaxy,
tasted that wine and encouraged Beppe to bottle it.
And so, in 1991, he released 860 bottles of Dolcetto, the first wine labelled
with the Caviola name.
Immediately took on another challenge in Montelupo. Beppe runs a
small plot of barbera who decides to make wine according to new
guidelines and born the famous Bric du Luv, which summarizes on it self the
evolution (indeed, the revolution) that is going on stage under the sky
of the Langa.
New labels born and in 2002 the winery moved to Dogliani and here the family
Caviola invents a complex where production, counseling and tourism
(the Relais Villa Bracco is becoming a reality) can coexist in harmony,
united by the same philosophy of simplicity and excellence.
In 2005 he began the most prestigious chapter: to lead a vineyard of Nebbiolo
for Barolo.
The Sottocastello cru of Novello.
His brother-in-law Giancarlo Vivalda is also involved in the undertaking,
and the first "king of wines" was produced in 2006. From the wolf hills to
Dogliani and on to Barolo. A long road has already been travelled,
but there is much more to come. Along the way, little Mattia arrived.
