Villa Rosmarino Company Information
Informazioni Generali
Villa Rosmarino is located on Mount Portofino, a protected area that stretches out into the open sea,
a natural border between the Golfo Paradiso and Golfo del Tigullio.
The Mount is a regional park of great natural interest where sea, rocks and vegetation merge
perfectly to create unforgettable scenery.
The Mount rises just above Camogli, one of the most famous and enchanting fisherman’s village in
Liguria.
Since early centuries, Camogli has been one of the most romantic fisherman’s villages in the
Mediterranean Sea. The fortified town erects itself over the Golfo Paradiso at the foot of the Mount
Portofino. Its traditional tall multicoloured houses are homes to ancient sea traditions and it’s been
called since the last century “The town of the thousand tall ships”.
The traditional colours of the house are always warm, in contrasting shades but never garish: ochre
and beige dominate, with splashes of burgundy and burnished red.
Camogli is also a favourite gourmet attraction for those looking for the true flavours of regional
italian cuisine.
Pansoti (small parcels of pasta filled with wild herbs) , trofie with pesto (Ligurian pasta with fresh
pesto sauce), focaccia di Recco (savoury pastry oozing with light melted cheese). the freshest of
fish cooked in a variety of styles are only the starters to this immersion in the finest Italian cuisine.
The closeness to the age old Abbey of S.Fruttuoso di Capodimonte and the Doria Tower which can
only be reached by boat or on foot through well tended and fascinating pathways make it an ideal
escape from everyday life.
More than thirty of these paths run through the Mount Portofino and allow to reach such classic
destinations as Punta Chiappa, Portofino or Paraggi through stunning environment running along
the coastline.
Villa Rosmarino is the ideal starting point for these walks through nature.
For sea lovers, the waters surrounding Mount Portofino are part of a Natural Reservoir.
Guests can navigate, swim and dive in the clearest of blue waters or simply enjoy the freshest of
fish by having lunch or dinner in one of the cozy restaurants that can only be reached by boat, of
which the Villa owners are also provided.
The waters surrounding Camogli and Mount Portofino hosts one of the only three
remaining “tonnara” (traditional tuna fishing reservoir) in the country alongside those in Sicily and
Sardinia.
For those looking for the best of Italian charm Portofino and Santa Margherita provide the perfect
destinations with their exclusive villas, shopping and restaurants.
