VALENTINA GIOVANDO is an artist who makes furniture and other interior fittings. Her work is surprising in it's originality and quality of craftsmanship.

She lives in the small intimate town of Sarzana in Liguria, North West Italy, a place rich in local history and geographical variety, providing her with an infinite stimulus for her research.

As a starting point she uses existing pieces of furniture recycling them into beautifully crafted objects which take on a new function and identity. The initial wooden structure becomes transformed through the application ofwidely varying materials. She selects vintage fabrics for the upholstery juxtaposing them with industrial materials such as screws, nail, rivets, laminates, glass and metal,resulting in a piece of work scrupulous in it's detail and esthetic beauty.

Her work comprises varying lamp forms from chandeliers to table lamps and larger pieces such as tables sofas and armchairs. Each is a unique work of art.
