Panizza nasce a Ghiffa nel 1879, sulle rive del Lago Maggiore grazie alla cura e al genio di Giovanni Panizza e Natale Gamba.
Fin dagli esordi ha legato il suo nome all’eccellenza della fabbricazione italiana del cappello.

Panizza desidera riportare il Cappello sulle teste di tutti, a dimostrazione che il vero lusso e l’eleganza, frutto di sapienza artigianale d’altri tempi, debbano tornare a far parlare di sé nel settore dell’alta moda, italiana e internazionale.

Oggi l’azienda è ancora sotto la guida della quinta generazione della famiglia Gamba, che tramanda il sapere e la cultura dell’artigianalità di generazione in generazione.

La produzione non avviene più nei locali storici adibiti al “Museo dell’Arte del cappello”, ma in Toscana, presso nostri esperti cappellai di fiducia, licenziatari di Panizza dai primi anni ’80.

I suoi capisaldi sono sempre stati l’artigianalità, la grande cura per il dettaglio, la continua ricerca dei feltri e dei tessuti migliori con una grandissima attenzione per l’alta qualità dei materiali impiegati.

Panizza è attenta all’ambiente e all’argomento sostenibilità: tutte le qualità di feltro di coniglio che utilizza provengono rigorosamente dal mercato alimentare con certificazioni di lavorazione atossiche e seguono i più alti standard indicati dall’Unione Europea.

History

Panizza has been making the best hats in the world since 1879, the year of its foundation, thanks to the attention and genius of Giovanni Panizza, the head of a long dynasty of expert Italian hatters. When Giovanni Panizza retired to private life, he left the business to his friend and partner Natale Gamba, whose children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have continued to successfully run the hat factory to the present day.
Over the years, they have wanted to keep the great manufacturing and artisanal skills, conquered and learned since the beginning and still the pride and symbol of the company.
Felt, a mixture of fur or wool appropriately treated, has always been the real star, skilfully hand-crafted by the master hatters of the Panizza factory.
At first, the felt was made in the factory on the shores of Lake Maggiore, which today is the home of the Hat Museum. Today, however, the work is carried out in Montevarchi, in Tuscany.
