Thanks to ongoing technical development today ground gears (cylindrical and Gleason bevel gears) are used in many areas. For instance in the rail transport sector, where Gleason spiral bevel gears DIN 5 / AGMA 12 have helped decrease vibrations; leading to improved comfort, durability and speed. Similar results are obtained in rolling cages or in quick monoblocks and in the heads of tool machines. The increased accuracy of power transmissions also allows reduced size and weight of machines with the same transmitted power; determining factors in both the aeronautic industry and in the transportation sector in general.
Casagrande Ingranaggi has always responded early to new trends and in 1963 the company installed the first spur gear grinding machine, which was followed by the first involute testing machine (equipment for measuring profile/helical/pitch eccentricity) in 1967.
In 1978, being the first in Italy after the aeronautic companies, the production of Bevel gear pairs with grinding, skiving or hpg finishing started.
