Margherita Burgener creations have a fascinating history.

A story linked to my family’s tradition as goldsmith, and the area where this tradition has its root.
Every piece of Margherita Burgener jewellery is designed and created in the family workshop. Today as in the past.

In the ‘Nineties I left my mountains for Valenza, the home of high class Italian jewellery. I took with me the poetry of the places I grew up in, surrounded by nature.
In Valenza I spent time in my future husband’s workshop, established by his father in 1966, where my love of precious stones and jewellery design flourished. Following my instincts, I enrolled in gemmology and goldsmithing courses.
In 2003 I created my first pieces of jewellery under my surname and the name of my eldest daughter, Margherita; that was the official beginning of the adventure.

The first pieces were sold at auction by Phillips de Pury in Geneva, to be followed by Sotheby’s, Christie’s, Artcurial, Poly Hong Kong and Bonhams.
The philosophy behind them has always been uniqueness and design.

In 2011 the limited edition Boutique line made its debut.

As time went by, requests increased for “custom made” pieces from international customers, for whom, together with the family team, I conceive and design spectacular “one off” pieces.

Nowadays, I oversee the ancient gestures of craftsmen and their increasingly rare, valuable skills in the family workshop with undiminished passion.
