Our mission is to foster innovation and drive the diffusion of technologies that will propel the next generation of robots closely interact with humans.

Robots interacting with humans need to be strong yet delicate, requiring more advanced motor control capabilities than those present in today’s soft robotics technologies.

We believe that the moment has come to revolutionize Machine Motion, similar to that which occurred in Machine Intelligence, in terms of technology (full open-source design, rapid manufacturing techniques, robotics OS and embedded control platforms) and science (natural motor control understanding, variable impedance actuation, motion synergies).

The results will have maximum impact on society as a whole and everyday life by bringing new technologies to fruition by adopting a fully open philosophy, sharing designs and innovation with the Natural Machine Motion Initiative community, and distinguishing itself through relentless commitment to leading product innovation.
