- L’Archivio Storico Foto Locchi, posto sotto la tutela del Ministero per i Beni e le Attività Culturali, è considerato per il suo alto valore storico ed artistico uno tra i più importanti a livello internazionale. Un corpus d'immagini in costante divenire, che a seguito delle recenti acquisizioni conta oggi oltre 5 milioni di fotografie sulla storia di Firenze e la Toscana, dagli anni trenta ad oggi, conservate sotto forma di negativi originali. Immagini dal mondo dello sport e dello spettacolo, del cinema e della grande Storia, ma anche frammenti pittoreschi che raccontano consuetudini e quotidianità dei cittadini di ieri e di oggi.

-The Archivio Storico Foto Locchi, under the protection of the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities and containing material of unequalled historic and artistic value, is considered one of the world’s foremost collections of its kind. A continually expanding corpus of images, which thanks to recent acquisitions (link) now counts upwards of 5 million photographs recounting the history of Florence and Tuscany from the 1930s to the present, preserved in the form of the original negatives. Images from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and fashion, and reportages of great events in history – as well as “minor” picturesque fragments that tell of customs and daily life, yesterday as today.
