Polimoda is independent in its thinking and action by combining business and design across all departments, beginning with our executive staff who – with their esteemed analytical and creative backgrounds – together create this visionary fashion future.

Polimoda fosters this interdisciplinary approach across Undergraduate, Master’s and Short Courses. Connecting with the legacy of the past, new research and creativity is nurtured inside the Renaissance-style building of Villa Favard, the state-of-the-art Design Lab, and in Polimoda Library; the first fashion library in Europe housing 22,000 fashion and photography books and 400 complete collections of magazine archives.

Students are guided by our professors who currently work around the world in the fields of fashion marketing, management, finance, branding, communications, art direction, trend forecasting, footwear, textile development, and pattern and garment design. The resource is the experience of these active professionals, who build projects for students addressing the current situations facing the industry.

Fashion thrives on change. Students at Polimoda are given the tools and freedom to not only adapt to this change, but also anticipate it before it happens. In order to do this, knowledge of all aspects of the industry is crucial. As 70% of students are from countries outside Italy, Polimoda acts as a cultural force in the heart of Florence, linking Florentine institutions like Pitti Immagine, luxury houses including Salvatore Ferragamo, and local production companies who supply most of the world’s luxury goods.

Polimoda is not part of mainstream fashion education. We have our own approach that’s transforming the future of the fashion industry with every student.
