Il film descrive qualcosa di magico e di scientificamente possibile. Un hotel della Sicilia, un gruppo di jazzisti in prova. Due donne che arrivano dalle favelas di Rio e un percussionista famoso che è stato fatto sparire. Un quartetto di personaggi improbabili parte alla ricerca del mago Candomblé al soldo dei “traficantes”, per ritrovare la formula musicale che richiami l’amico scomparso. Avventure picaresche e poetiche in Brasile e in Sicilia e gran concerto finale. Scritto e diretto sul principio narrativo del melodramma il film finisce per essere una meditazione sulla contemporaneità, sul pensiero magico e razionale, sul pericolo che abbiamo oggi di scomparire per furto di coscienza. Tutti i personaggi interpretano se stessi.

It describes something magic but also scientifically possible. An hotel in Sicily, a group of jazz musicians on rehearsal. Two women coming from Rio de Janeiro’s favelas and a famous percussionist who disappeared. A quartet of unlikely characters (a group of musicians) in search of the wizard Candomblé, hired by drug traffickers, looking for the formula to retrieve the lost friend. Picaresque and poetic adventures in Brazil and in Sicily and the grand final concert. The film was written and directed on the narrative principle of “melodrama”. It is a meditation on the state of being contemporary, on the value of music and poetry, on magical and rational thought, on the danger we have, today, to disappear for the theft of consciousness.
