“La Caravella” di Amalfi nasce nel 1959 oggi, stella michelin è uno dei ristoranti piu’ importanti e rinomati del Sud Italia. Entro’ nel gotha della ristorazione italiana gia’ negli anni sessanta, quando fu il primo del Sud Italia a ricevere la Stella dalla guida Michelin..

Situato nel centro della citta’, vi si respira l’aria della grande storia della prima Repubblica Marinara.
E’, infatti, attiguo agli Antichi Arsenali in un palazzo del 1100, che fu dimora dei Piccolomini, fondatori del Ducato Amalfitano.
L’ala del palazzo, deve e’ collocata “La Caravella”, fu adibita, nel rinascimento ad archivio Ducale.
Sa di terra e di mare, di oriente e di occidente la cucina de “La Caravella ”, che riscopre le antiche ricette Amalfitane, riproponendole in una versione rivisitata con rigore, che esalta meglio e di piu’ profumi, sapori e genuinità della nostra Terra e del nostro mare.

L’ambiente elegante, curato nei particolari, ospita una bella e ricca collezione di opere dei piu’ grandi Maestri ceramisti della Costa di Amalfi dal 1800 a oggi, tanto che “La Caravella”, e’ considerato a giusta ragione un ristorante “Museo”.

Gelosi, scrupolosi e sapienti custodi di questo santuario della buona tavola sono i Dipino che da generazioni si tramandano i segreti e le estose invenzioni di nonne e mamme, nel solco di una tradizione aperta all’innovazione.

“La Caravella” was first opened in 1959, is today michelin star and one of the most important and well-known restaurant in the South of Italy. In the sixties, due to the high level of quality achieved among the first restaurat of the south Italy, “The Caravella” was awarded the Michelin Guide Star.
Situated in the centre of the city, where the history of the first Maritime Republic can be felt.
It is infact situated next to the Ancient Arsenals, in a building of the 1100, which was the home of the Piccolomini family, feudatories of the Duchy of Amalfi. The aisle of the building, today allocated to the “Caravella” was in the renaissance the archive of the Duchy.
The cuisine of the “Caravella” is based on Eastern and Western, Sea and Land products, it rediscovers the old recipes of Amalfi, representing them in a more fantastic version, exalting the senses and the tastes of our Area.
The elegant and well kept environment, houses a rich collection of ceramics of the most famous masters of since Amalfi Coast 1800 to nowadays.
Thanks to this, “la Caravella” is proudly considered as a restaurant-museum.
The Dipino Family, jealous, and with scrupulous care treasure this sanctuary of good cuisine, by passing down from generation to generation, their secrets and inventions always open to novelties.
