Nel 1683 viene fondato il comune di Santo Stefano di Camastra, e subito dopo, accanto alla Chiesa principale, viene costruita la casa dei baroni Sergio.
Per secoli è stata uno degli edifici più belli del paese, ha visto vescovi e re soggiornare nelle sue stanze e la vita del paese scorrere sotto i suoi balconi, che si affacciano sul corso principale, finché, più di vent'anni fa, Franco Zammataro non se ne innamorò, perdutamente, e decise di prenderla in affitto quando ormai non era altro che un reperto decadente e in rovina. È stato solo per amore che ha passato sei mesi a ristrutturarla rendendola un'abitazione per la sua famiglia, un'abitazione-negozio in cui sono stati venduti mobili e complementi d'arredo d'alto antiquariato.
Adesso, ancora per amore, la figlia Miriam ha deciso di trasformare questa casa antichissima in una gioielleria, talmente bella che qualcuno ha persino ringraziato la famiglia Zammataro per aver restituito la bellezza di questo posto agli abitanti di Santo Stefano.

The town of S. Stefano di Camastra, in Sicily, was founded in 1683 and, very soon thereafter, the family home of the Sergio Barons was built next to the community’s main church. For centuries it was one of the most beautiful buildings in the town; it saw Bishops and Kings stay in its rooms and the life of the town pass back and forth beneath its balconies until, approximately twenty years ago, Franco Zammataro fell desperately in love with it and decided to rent it even though it was nothing but a decaying object in ruins.
It was purely out of love that he spent six months reconstructing this ruin to return it into a home for his family; a home and also a shop in which antique furniture and decorative objects for the home were sold.
Today, still out of that same love, the daughter Miriam has decided to transform this very old house into a jewelry store so very beautiful that everyone feels moved to thank the Zammataro family for having restored the beauty of this location to the inhabitants of S. Stefano di Camastra.
